Graduation photography is probably my favorite. It's a very special time for young ladies and gentlemen.
Luckily graduation usually happens around June, so the weather definitely helps with the search for the perfect location.
So here is my personal favorite list of the best locations for grad photography in Red Deer:
#1 McKenzie Trails Park.
This location is my number-one choice not only because it has a lot to offer in a variety of background compositions, but also because it has a lot of parking lots... And if you photograph a grad photo session with a large family, a lack of parking options can really ruin the experience.
Back to background options, McKenzie Trails Park offers gorgeous foresty trails, a view of ponds with lots of geese at certain times of year, on the other side you have access to Red Deer River. My favorite places are actually opened areas within the park, this way I can get enough of depth of field to get that lovely creamy blurred background.
It's funny that we are looking for beautiful locations to blur it anyway in the process... haha. Jokes aside it is simply because we want the main focus to be on our model but not on the surroundings.
#2 Heritage Ranch
This location is also an excellent choice. It has enough parking space for dealing with almost any size of the photoshoot. This location is very popular among photographers and for a reason.
It has a LOT of beautiful trails and passes along with very pretty opened areas filled with wildflowers.
Like the previous park, this also has a little cute pond, which helps to get a lot of different looks within the same location. Worth mentioning is a little wooden bridge, which is very popular for singles and couple photoshoots.
The disadvantage of this location is that you will have to walk a bit to get to open areas and a pond, so if you are planing to have a graduation session in a tight dress and on high heels, I would highly recomend to take some sport shoes with you.

#3 Bower Ponds
Bower Ponds is closing the top 3 locations for Gad photo sessions in Red Deer.
As the name suggests it is a very popular location due to the beautiful ponds and little passes and bridges around it. If you love beauty sessions with water in the background, it is the location for you.
As in the two previous locations, this park also has plenty of parking lots.
The only downside of the Bower Ponds location would be that it is too popular, you will be constantly bumping into other photographers and people on the photo session.

Conclusion:
It doesn't matter too much where you will choose to do your graduation photos, it just comes to personal preferences. In June you can find pretty locations everywhere, even in your own backyard... But make sure to consult with the photographer first, cuz there might be some things you didn't think about, like the direction of the light at a certain time of day...
So good luck and if you choose Light Fox Photography to do your Graduation photo session, we will be very happy!
