Christmas Family photo sessions are definitely one of my favourites! It's an awesome opportunity to get the whole family together for sweet and warm family photos.
For the harsh winter weather of Central Alberta, I definitely recommend cozy Studio Photography.
You don't have to freeze or wear heavy winter coats to get stunning Christmas family photos.
It is especially beneficial if you have little kids with you.

OUTDOOR OR INDOOR?
First of all, you have to decide what Christmas Family photography style you prefer. I almost always vote for Outdoor Family photography, as natural light always looks very "natural", but considering the cold and unpredictable weather of Central Alberta, I would recommend to consider Studio Photography.
The benefits of Studio Christmas photo session are obvious, it is comfortable room temperature and consistent lighting conditions. You even can take with you a change of clothing for different themes... and take a break if your kid is tired.
But, is there any reason to choose an outdoor Winter Family photoshoot?
Yes, there is... it's impossible to replace the beauty of raw nature! The winter season is definitely the more tricky one... but also very rewarding!
